I'm from Fremantle, Western Australia. I currently work as a Product Design Engineer and as an independent designer and developer. I've found my best and most interesting work happens when I don't treat design or development as separate practice.
Where I have the time for exploration, I've been deeply interested and invested in how we can design the interfaces and interactions between people and LLMs in a way that can bring value to people now and into an open-ended future. I think most of the interesting problems haven't been named yet. People are still using AI to do old things faster, so for now we're designing to try and shape the new things people don't know to ask for yet.

Craft
I believe design doesn’t exist independently of the technologies that implement and render it. The constraints and possibilities afforded by [technical] design and [creative] development as a synchronous practice is what produces the work that others will measure against.
I believe taste is built through dedication and practice, not gifted. I sharpen mine through relentless iteration, a lot of tinkering, keeping a sharp eye by keeping up-to-date, and deconstructing problems to create solutions that feel simple and right in ways that are hard to describe.
